'Votes For Women' sash
• Suffragette sash
• Inspired by an original sash in the Museum of London's collection
• Produced by the company who originally made the sashes
A replica of an original votes for women sash, featuring the iconic purple, white and green colours affiliated with the Suffragette movement.
First seen at Women’s Sunday held on 21st June 1908, the regalia or sash soon became an essential part of the ‘Suffragette uniform’. Such a sash would have been worn at demonstrations, processions and public events.
This sash has been produced by Toye, Kenning & Spencer using original production methods and machinery from the early 1900’s.
